Construction Metal Forming Limited (CMF), a South Wales-based metal-forming manufacturer, supplies mezzanine flooring and purlin systems built around standardized production and third-party certification. Its MetFloor, MetPurl and MetMezz products are tested by BRE and certified by the Steel Construction Institute (SCI), according to the company. CMF says its production lines can process steel sheet from 0.7mm to 4.0mm thick and form structural sections up to 500mm deep.
CMF’s product development follows established engineering standards, with its mezzanine flooring and MetPurl purlin systems subject to BRE testing and SCI certification. The company is a member of the British Constructional Steelwork Association (BCSA), an industry body that represents steelwork contractors and related manufacturers.
Those credentials are central to how the systems are specified. Designers and contractors typically review test reports and certification before procurement, particularly when a floor deck or purlin system must meet defined structural and safety requirements. CMF’s production chain covers metal sheet forming through to connectors, according to the company.
CMF’s manufacturing facilities are in South Wales. The company says continuous equipment upgrades allow it to handle steel sheet thicknesses from 0.7mm to 4.0mm, a range intended to accommodate different structural load requirements.
CMF’s manufacturing capacity relies on several precision-processing technologies. CNC roll-forming lines allow the company to produce structural components with section depths of up to 500mm. In 2015, CMF added what it describes as the U.K.’s only shear stud manufacturing line and developed composite shear connectors, or CSC, extending its package for composite floor construction.
| Technical metric | Specification or range |
|---|---|
| Steel sheet thickness | 0.7mm to 4.0mm |
| Formed section depth | Up to 500mm |
| Core product lines | MetFloor, MetPurl, MetMezz |
| Testing and certification | BRE; SCI |
To meet rising demand, CMF has carried out a broad capacity expansion in recent years, including a second manufacturing plant dedicated to MetPurl and MetMezz products. The company has integrated a Bradbury roll-forming line and a Samesor production line, steps it says have improved production efficiency.
CMF says the modular production layout allows it to handle customized orders across different specifications while maintaining product consistency and delivery efficiency. Its core portfolio in the sector includes the MetFloor, MetPurl and MetMezz ranges, supported by BRE testing and SCI certification.
